Resumo

  1. Any proposal for budget allocations from this bucket must be tied to clearly defined on chain metrics that include on-chain wallet creation, on-chain DID creation, and on-chain transaction volume.

  2. Each proposal will be limited in size and accomplished in stages that start small and grow to a point where a critical mass can be achieved and the community formed becomes self sustaining. Once a community achieves critical mass it will be expected to sustain itself without further budget support. This guardrail will be elaborated on through this discussion.

Motivação

We need to look to the future of the blockchain. That means expanding the user base and expanding decentralization. Decentralization of our society and actually reducing the concentration of wealth means breaking these initiatives into smaller and more decentralized efforts.

Our chain will only succeed in it's primary mission if we are able to organize a critical mass of people to join this community and organize enough capital to maintain society free of fiat manipulation and free of the centralizing forces.

This means not just attracting casino activity from other chains.

Justificativa

We have a community outreach and education budget. There have been very similar categories in Catalyst and this type of proposal has been abused. Awards in this category need to be more structured and results oriented. "Marketing" and "Engagement" and "Influencers" can participate, but they need to actually show results on chain and they will need to start small and prove work and concept to unlock larger rewards.

We can make this proposal category more effective by enforcing transparency and accountability. We can market the power of this blockchain by demonstrating the ability to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts that are notoriously soft and hard to measure across industry. Building the tools to directly measure all awarded outreach and education proposals will make this blockchain unique with the ability to gather anonymous marketing data while maintaining customer anonymity when desired.

Lastly by limiting the size of proposals in this category we can enforce decentralization. Building many smaller communities and bringing 10 smaller communities up to critical mass will bring much more initiative to the growth of the blockchain than 1 large group.

What requirements are needed to show results on chain for the influencers and Marketers? Just curious as to the limitations to keep the abuse of funding to a minimum.

Wouldn't this be circumvented by simply automating wallet & did creation with dust?

My understanding is that the guardrails are temporary until after the bootstrapping phase of governance is complete. Perhaps this would be better enshrined in the budget process?
