The Cardano Educational Video Series will serve as a vital resource to drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of the Cardano blockchain. By delivering high-quality, accessible content, we aim to empower both new and existing users, fostering a stronger and more engaged ecosystem for the future.

Problem Statement

Cardano is one of the most innovative blockchain platforms, yet many potential users, developers, and investors struggle to fully understand its capabilities and benefits. As blockchain adoption grows, the need for clear, engaging, and high-quality educational content has never been more critical. This proposal outlines a comprehensive video series designed to bridge the knowledge gap and provide valuable insights into the Cardano ecosystem. While many blockchain networks have established a strong presence through extensive educational content, Cardano’s unique value propositions often remain underrepresented in mainstream discussions. The technical complexity of its innovations—such as the Ouroboros proof-of-stake protocol, Plutus smart contracts, and governance mechanisms—can be overwhelming for newcomers. Through an engaging mix of beginner-friendly explanations, deep-dive analyses, and expert interviews, this initiative aims to make Cardano’s technology more accessible and appealing. This video series will focus on creating high-quality, engaging educational content that simplifies complex concepts and highlights Cardano’s strengths. By producing well-structured and visually compelling videos, we aim to provide valuable resources that the community and ecosystem partners can leverage to drive awareness and adoption.

Proposal Benefit

Last year a series of videos and PDF's were created and delivered to Intersect for distribution and despite the high quality in-depth content, the videos did not gain significant views on the newly launched Intersect YouTube channel at that time. We plan to do things differently with the next series and offer them out publicly in a shared drive to every Cardano community member to leverage whether it is for a community hub, booth or online content to amplify the awareness and view count.

By implementing this video series, we anticipate significant positive effects on awareness, adoption, and engagement within the Cardano ecosystem.

Increased Awareness A well-informed audience that understands Cardano’s technology and benefits.

Higher Engagement More users staking, using dApps, and participating in governance.

Market Growth Attracting developers, investors, and users to the ecosystem.

Free short and long form content Distributed to Cardano Community members to own/edit and recycle as they please to promote the chain and ecosystem.

Is it possible to conduct a comprehensive needs survey at this stage, rather than in the production stage, and reflect that in the proposal? The survey may lead to the conclusion that there is no demand for high-quality educational video content. To be honest, I doubt there is any demand for video educational content for Cardano, judging from the INTERSECT channel views of around 15-40. People may be looking for infographics or documents rather than videos.

""Turning interested audiences into highly engaged Cardano users and evangelists"" could be an important KPI keyword. If this is the end goal, is it possible to define ""highly engaged Cardano users and evangelists"" in a measurable way and define a target value for how much we want to increase it through this proposal?

Response to Concerns and Proposal Integration: The concerns raised about the previous content series—low view counts (15 to 40 views), comments like “Even high-quality videos are meaningless if no one watches them,” and questions about whether video is the right medium for blockchain education—highlight the need for a strategic shift. The prior series focused on Intersect and Voltaire governance, a niche but essential topic for understanding Cardano’s decentralized process. This content was not designed for mass appeal like general Cardano content, which targets new developers and broader audiences, making direct view count comparisons inappropriate.

The new Cardano content series aligns with the GMC’s 6-month Workstream by prioritizing high-quality, multilingual educational videos and long-form content, including case studies, tutorials, and ecosystem updates. To address feedback, we will engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) and influencers to amplify reach, committing to a minimum of 1,000 views per video across YouTube, TikTok, and X. The series will leverage expert scriptwriting, professional videography, and deep Cardano knowledge to ensure quality and relevance.

The proposed content agenda (e.g., educational videos, thought leadership, ecosystem updates) is a starting point. Recognizing the dynamic nature of community interests, a comprehensive survey will be conducted at the time of production to identify the most in-demand topics, ensuring alignment with current needs. Additionally, we will coordinate with the PR agency and KOLs for optimized distribution, maximizing engagement and turning interested audiences into highly engaged Cardano users and evangelists, as outlined in the Workstream’s goals.

Within the Growth and Marketing Committee (GMC), the following has been outlined for a 6-month period under the External Education & Long-Form Content Workstream : "This Workstream covers the creation and management of Cardano’s long-form content and external educational resources. These materials are intended to engage and educate Cardano’s token holders, users, and Community-at-large. Content could include things like educational videos, case studies, thought leadership pieces, ecosystem updates, and interactive learning resources.

This Workstream Budget will be used to contract a Vendor Partner(s) with experience producing Educational and Long-Form Content in the Web3 industry. The Vendor Partner(s) will be responsible for developing ROI benchmarks with the MPM(s), delivering the program elements outlined in the RFP(s), and providing reports on program performance to the MPM(s). This Workstream Budget could also cover OOPs, for example: Production of Digital and Physical Educational Resources, etc. The goal of this Workstream is to deepen Cardano’s engagement with audiences who are currently interested in the project and turn them into highly engaged users and evangelists." Program elements include:

  • Educational Content (e.g., videos, written tutorials, physical and digital interactive learning)
  • Ecosystem Long-Form Content (e.g., case studies, thought leadership pieces, ecosystem updates) Success metrics include:
  • Community Use/Recall of Educational Materials

Budget Proposal Workshop Participant Feedback - Hosted by Japan Hub

Positive Feedback: ・The initiative to create educational videos for beginners and non-technical audiences was considered meaningful. ・Providing both PDFs and videos was appreciated for its versatility.

Concerns / Trade-offs: ・Very low view counts (15 to 40 views), raising questions about reach. ・Many commented that “Even high-quality videos are meaningless if no one watches them.” ・Some questioned whether video is even the right medium for general blockchain education.

Representative Reactions: ・“Better to let influencers handle outreach.” ・“The content distribution strategy is weak. Relying solely on YouTube isn’t enough.”

We respectfully submit this feedback for your consideration.

Clarifying KPIs and Impact Goals

  1. Is it possible to define clear KPIs and target values regarding how many community members are expected to view this educational content, and what specific improvements to the ecosystem are ultimately intended?

Understanding Audience Needs and Market Demand

  1. Has there been any analysis of the potential demand for these videos?
  2. Are there any insights or research identifying the specific needs of developers, investors, and users with respect to educational content?
  3. For example, have developers been asked what kinds of videos they actually want to watch?

Testing Assumptions About Content Relevance

  1. The proposal suggests that “this category focuses on explaining the fundamental principles of the Cardano blockchain and ecosystem to onboard and educate new users” — but do we have any evidence that new users are truly interested in watching such introductory principle-focused videos?
  2. Another part of the proposal says, “this category provides step-by-step tutorials on various essential tasks to help users navigate the Cardano ecosystem.” — this might be a subtle point, but do users really want these kinds of videos? Are there actually users who want to engage with the Cardano ecosystem but need videos to understand unclear UI elements?

Considering Alternative Strategies for Greater Impact

  1. Given that some previous high-quality videos from Intersect did not achieve strong viewership, is it possible that the goals of this proposal could be more effectively achieved by working with existing Cardano influencers who already have an established audience and consistent views, asking them to produce educational videos instead?
