Description

Cardano Governance Bot is a tool to help the community better stay connected with governance, its processes, governance bodies, and results. It will be able to update daily, ensuring that users are presented with the most current and accurate information. The bot will digest all documentation around Cardano’s governance model. It will read and digest all proposed governance actions and live voting, and provide results on the different voting rounds. It will be a single tool for all governance needs. Additionally, the bot will be able to use language models to translate information into most major languages. This will greatly facilitate access to non-English speakers and breach the language barrier. We’ll actively engage the non-English community to improve the process.

Problem Statement

Governance will become more complex over time. As more governance actions are created, more information will have to be parsed, and more time will need to be devoted to it. This can reduce the number of people who can devote time to the subject.

Additionally, the information currently presented in Cardano’s governance is mostly in English. This prevents the meaningful participation of non-fluent people and also presents an obstacle to global governance.

Proposal Benefit

The Cardano Governance Bot will automatically update and present users with the newest information. It can use the scrapers we have already used in other projects to assimilate the information added on governance.

This means that it’ll be up-to-date every single day without fail. The LLMs we aim to use have language modules that can translate information to most other languages with a high degree of accuracy. This will improve information access across many cultures and regions.

Key Proposal Deliverables

User Interface: A way for users to input prompts and get answers.

Sources link: The bot will list all the sources it used to generate an answer

Vectorial database: A vector database that is used to house the information

Web scrapers: Scrapers that track the sources and update them automatically

AI bot using open-source LLM models: A bot that answers questions using an open-source LLM model. The bot updates automatically using web scrapers and can also translate information to other languages from English.

Experience

Ričardas Darkšas is a dedicated programmer whose journey began immediately after graduation, diving into software development. His early work involved creating specialized certification software for a recruitment firm and developing order-generation software for manufacturers thereby enhancing supplier interactions.

His experience expanded to include working on an HR management system and a 3D gaming cafeteria management system. Additionally, he has contributed to industrial projects, focusing on manufacturing process control, packaging, and labeling.

For an intense 2.5 years, he remotely engaged with a marketing company in the USA, enhancing my web development skills by working on various marketing campaigns. This role included traveling to Las Vegas twice to assist with the technical operations at live events. Following this experience, he made significant contributions to a document management system and various projects utilizing Java.

His most recent ventures include completing courses in blockchain technology at EMURGO Academy and finishing the first batch of the Cardano Solution Architect, which led to his membership in a decentralized organization.

He has developed the backend and management system of the platform Cardano CoffeDAO, a tokenization service for specialty coffee grown in Honduras and sold in the United States. He also generated the images for the project using generative artificial intelligence. These models were run both in a local environment and on servers.

Sebastian Pereira is an economist with experience in several industries. After university, he headed the planning department of a State corporation. In 2019, he decided to switch full-time to the crypto industry, starting as a writer for projects and publications.

In 2018, he founded a coffee trading company in Brazil called Pangea Agro. It exported coffee to several European countries such as Portugal, Spain, and Italy.

In 2020, he began blockchain courses at EMURGO Academy, finishing the entire program as a Cardano Solutions Architect. He has worked on many Cardano projects and currently works for EMURGO. He is also a founder of CoffeeDAO

Maintenance & Support

The full project will be in a GitHub repository for anyone to clone and use. The scrapers that track and copy the governance information will also be provided for people to clone. The bot will be provided fully with an open-source license. We’ll run an instance of the bot on a cloud environment for a year. It’ll be free to access for everyone in the community. In the meantime, we’ll explore other options to keep the bot running long term. One possibility is creating a stake pool for the bot and using the rewards to keep it free indefinitely.
