How ADAspending Works
-
Data Collection: We collect and process data directly from the Cardano blockchain and public treasury records.
-
Data Analysis: Our algorithms categorize and analyze the data to identify patterns and trends in spending.
-
Visualization: Data is transformed into intuitive charts and graphs that make complex information easy to understand.
-
User Access: You get access to all this information through our user-friendly dashboard and search tools.
Problem Statement
The Cardano community and ecosystem need a unified, transparent, and user-friendly platform to explore and analyze how treasury funds (money) are being allocated, spent, and tracked over time.
While some data is available on platforms such as Cardano block explorers, GovTool, Intersect website, gitbook, websites and google spreadsheets, powerpoints and documents, it remains fragmented, difficult to navigate, and often inaccessible to the broader Cardano community or outsiders.
With this proposal, we address the critical need for financial transparency and community accountability by creating ADAspending.com - an open data portal that aggregates and visualizes treasury spending on the Cardano blockchain in a user-friendly and accessible interface.
Inspired by USAspending.gov, ADAspending.com empowers voters, proposers, researchers, the community, and stakeholders to follow the flow of ADA from the treasury to proposals, with on-chain verification, cross-referencing, and analysis of the information.
Proposal Benefit
This project brings great value to multiple segments of the Cardano ecosystem by increasing transparency, accountability, and trust in the treasury system, a fundamental element of decentralized governance. Among the benefits, we highlight by segments:
-
Benefits for Community Members and Voters: Get a clear and easy-to-use view of where treasury funds are being directed and going, how much is being spent, and who is receiving the funding, helping them make more informed decisions when voting or delegating their voting power to a DRep in Cardano’s decentralized governance.
-
Benefits for Project Proponents: Access historical funding data, identify trends, and compare their proposals to previous successful (and unsuccessful) initiatives.
-
Benefits for DReps: Use the platform to track funding performance and outcomes, improving decision-making and voting strategies.
-
Benefits for Researchers, Auditors and Finance Members: Monitor and track the delivery of funded proposals and compare them to what was promised, facilitating better accountability and reporting.
-
Benefits for SPOs and Developers: Leverage structured, publicly available data for analytics, governance research, dashboards, and community tools.
ROI to the Cardano Community
- Enhanced Treasury Transparency: Promotes trust in the on-chain governance process by offering a single, open-source interface to track every ADA spent.
- Increased Community Engagement: Lowers the entry barrier for new community members to understand treasury flows.
- Better Funding Decisions: Helps avoid waste, identify high-performing proposals, and support more impactful initiatives, optimizing treasury ROI.
- Support for Governance Evolution: As Cardano matures toward full on-chain governance, ADAspending.com will become a vital tool for monitoring public resource allocation in a decentralized way.

Supplementary Endorsement
While ADAspending.com is a new initiative, it is built upon clearly expressed needs from the Cardano community regarding treasury transparency, governance tooling, and accountability. The following points demonstrate a strong foundation of community interest and alignment:
-
Community Conversations & Feedback: In discussions across X Twitter, Telegram groups, and Discord channels, there have been recurring calls for more accessible, centralized tools to explore funding data. Improved transparency into how treasury funds are being spent. Dashboards that make it easier to track proposal outcomes and voting patterns.
-
Alignment with Cardano Governance Goals: ADAspending.com directly supports Cardano Governance and Voltaire objectives, particularly those related to accountability of funded proposals, on-chain governance tooling and Informed community decision-making.
-
Support from Community Tooling Ecosystem: ADAspending.com complements other existing tools such as GovTool, GovernanceSpace, CardanoScan, Tempo, AdaStat, 1694.io, cGov - not replacing them, but bridging gaps and offering deeper visibility across proposals, spending, and recipients.
-
Benchmarking - USAspending.gov: The project is modeled after USAspending.gov, a trusted and widely used transparency platform in the U.S., making this a proven concept with global relevance.
